Now Godrej Eon Tvs in Chennai

Godrej Eon TVGodrej has launched its entire television range in Tamil Nadu in a bid to expand its pan India presence, earlier we had spoken about Godrej's plan to sell Tvs across the country.

Post the companies commercial launch of their televisions they have been slowly increasing their pan India presence to achieve their 5% market share target.

Kamal Nandi, executive vice president, marketing and sales, Godrej appliances, said, "With our expertise in high technology manufacturing, we are well poised to give the Indian consumer a revolutionary viewing experience."

"Tamil Nadu is an excellent market for televisions and we are looking forward to the continued support and patronage of our customers here", he added.

Godrej Tv's Chennai launch commenced the third phase of their launch plan and the company expects their pan India presence to be completed in two years time.

The company sold over 1.5 lakh units last year in the four States where it was present. This year the company is targeting three lakh units, this increase will be boosted with its presence in three more States.

Godrej TV Plans a Pan India Launch

godrej xlcd color television rangeAfter two years of test marketing and slowly expanding its base in the country, Godrej Appliances is finally ready to push its televisions sets into homes all around the country.

Kamal Nandi, vice president, sales and marketing, Godrej Appliances, said, "Market expansion plans for our television business will be implemented from April, 2011, and the pan-India market expansion will be completed in the first three months of next fiscal year." Although the company plans on launching its televsions all around the country simultaneously.

The India launch will also be powered with a range of new products entering the market. The company is eager to capture 5% of the televison market in the first year of its commercial launch.

Since the initial launch phase in September 2008 the company managed to capture five percent market share in Kerala and Maharashtra excluding Mumbai and three percent in West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh.

Currently the company imports its LCD panels from Turkey, but is considering manufacturing these panels in house if the demands increase. Considering 70% of the cost of the LCD television is due to the panel, this move could drastically pull down the cost and increase demand as well in future.
